About the Event
Barath Daniel Béla from ETH Zurich on 3D Reconstruction with Global Structure-from-Motion:
"In this presentation, I will discuss key components of global Structure-from-Motion (SfM) pipelines, focusing on essential steps such as pose graph generation, and rotation and translation averaging. I will introduce GLOMAP, our recent method that significantly enhances the efficiency of SfM pipelines. GLOMAP delivers an order-of-magnitude improvement in run-time over COLMAP, while maintaining or even exceeding its accuracy. This talk will cover the theoretical advancements driving GLOMAP's superior performance and explore its implications for large-scale 3D reconstruction tasks across various applications."
Peter Karkus from NVIDIA Research on Autonomous Driving in the Era of Foundation Models: "I will briefly review open research questions in autonomous driving, and share our vision for next generation autonomous vehicles in the era of internet scale foundation models at NVIDIA research. I will review some of our recent and ongoing works along four key areas:…
